The witcher 2 enhanced edition has stopped working

Now I played chapter one just fine and then I came to chapter two. Chapter two starts with a cutscene of a boy and his mother and a bunch of nasty green wolves. I watched the cutscene and then I went into combat with the wolves. I managed to die and tried skipping through the custene to get back to the wolves. Here for some reason the game decided to freeze, resulting in me having to force it to shut down. The funny part is that after this I have not been able to start the game whatsoever. I tried pretty much everything to fix it: Going into regedit and setting it to windowed mode, checking file integrity with steam, reinstalling, restarting my pc, reinstaling vcredistx86 and directx, running as administrator, turning down resolution in regedit, enabling compatability mode with windows xp service pack 3.
