We have already tried a system restore, but this failed to resolve the issue. This thread is locked. On my known good box, with a working XPS service, the above commands worked without error. A reboot was done between the removal and re-add stage. After adding the services back you would once again see the service files, drivers, and printers. I even tried loading from a DVD install image and got the same error of 0xf I then went into safe mode and got the above commands for reinstall of the services to run without error.

Try to import the driver and you get the same file not found error again. At this point the flaw is deeper than I have time to diagnose as the customer needs this system back. I'm going to just backup the business data, reload the box, and restore the data. From what I've seen is that once this the XPS service becomes corrupt it is best to just wipe and reload.

I know remote desktop redirected printers package up the spool files as XPS to send back to the client machine for replay. I think this can be overridden by having the client printer drivers on the server but that is not a recommendation as this will lead to the spooler service failing at some point.
